The Lincoln Executive Series
Leadership Lincoln welcomes senior management executives and provides
them the opportunity to:
- Broaden their knowledge of Lincoln in a short period of time.
- Familiarize themselves with formal and informal decision-making
channels.
- Handle the critical issues facing our community.
- Become more involved in community affairs.
The Lincoln Executive Series is offered once a year beginning in
late January and running for 14 weeks. Individual seminars cover
eight key areas of Lincoln life, including Lincoln's Best-Kept Secrets;
Lincoln's Past, Present, and Future; plus Lincoln's economy, government,
health care systems, human services, education system, and quality
of life.
Each session includes guest presenters, discussion, and dinner.
A bus tour of commercial, residential, and historical sites highlights
geographic landmarks. Seminars provide opportunities to meet Lincoln's
opinion leaders from both public and private sectors.
Participation is limited. Preference is given to CEOs who have lived
in Lincoln fewer than three years or who are new to their positions.
Other senior management-level executives will be invited to attend
based on space availability.
Tuition is $3,000 for executives. Spouses are invited to participate
and may do so as part of the $3,000 fee.
For more information, contact Leadership Lincoln at 402-441-4661.

The Leadership Lincoln Fellows Program
Leadership Lincoln is continually seeking to develop a diverse
pool of available leaders to help improve the overall quality of
life in Lincoln and Lancaster County through The Leadership Lincoln
Fellows Program.
Fellows are required to attend seminars, retreats, and other events
one day a month to examine Lincoln community life and principles
of leadership.
Using a skills-based approach, the program encourages Fellows to
keep an open mind, to listen to other ideas, to willingly participate,
and to treat others with dignity and respect. Each seminar is developed
within a framework of the participants' diverse values, skills,
knowledge, and experiences, honoring the various ways in which individuals
learn and lead.
Retreats are held at the beginning and end of the program to provide
additional opportunities for exploring leadership skills, group
dynamics, and community development issues.

The Fellows Program Selection Process
1. Nomination. Nomination forms are available at Leadership Lincoln's
office. Nominations also may be made by calling Leadership Lincoln
at 402-441-4661. Each nominee will receive an application form,
which must be submitted to Leadership Lincoln for consideration.
This process is simply designed to expand the potential application
pool; nomination forms are not seen by the selection committee.
A person does not need to be nominated in order to apply.
2. Application. Application forms may be downloaded from this Web
site or retrieved from Leadership Lincoln's office during April
and May. Applicants should give serious attention to completing
the form because its content provides the primary basis for selection.
All applications must be received by the deadline listed on the
form. Late applications will not be considered.
3. Class Selection. Leadership Lincoln's selection committee reads
all the applications and then selects a class that best meets the
organization's goals. The committee continually seeks a group that
represents diversity in gender, culture, ethnicity, local geographic
location, employment, age, and experience. Candidates must be over
age 21; there is no age limit.
4. Previous Applications. Anyone who has applied before must submit
a new application to be considered for the program. Applicants are
strongly encouraged to reapply if previous applications have been
unsuccessful. Many candidates have been selected on their third
or fourth attempts. Participants are selected relative to the mix
of candidates available each year.
5. Notification. All applicants will be notified by mail whether
they have been selected to participate.
